During his 20-year tenure, Krabbenhoft has led the system through dynamic growth and development, including the acquisition and management of nearly $1 billion in philanthropic support from Denny Sanford, for whom the health system is named. Under Krabbenhoft’s leadership, Sanford Health has brought together health systems in the Dakotas and Minnesota, all while tackling some of medicine’s most challenging issues like breast cancer, pediatric rare disease and type 1 diabetes.
Krabbenhoft holds a Master of Business Administration from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a bachelor’s degree in business and hospital administration from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. He has previously served at Freeman Health System in Joplin, MO; Sisters of Mary of the Presentation Health Corporation in Fargo, ND; St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley, IL.; and Guttenberg Hospital in Guttenberg, IA.
