SUSAN FARKAS, MD

Susan I. Farkas, MD, is a multi-talented cardiologist who specializes in noninvasive cardiology but also performs heart catheterizations. Originally from Hungary, Dr. Farkas completed her training in the US at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, where she met her husband, Dr. Joshua Wynne, the dean of the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Dr. Farkas is a highly acclaimed and sought-after physician who enjoys teaching and research. She is director of echocardiography at Sanford Health Fargo and does outreach at satellite clinics around the area. She has multiple publications in scientific journals and recently was the governor for North Dakota for the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Farkas is a strong advocate for prevention and education about the unique features of women’s heart disease. As an associate professor of medicine at the University of North Dakota, she is a highly regarded teacher and educator. The mother of two children and grandmother to five, she is passionate about treating each patient as a unique individual, with unique needs that are addressed in a caring and sensitive manner. In her “free” time, she enjoys skiing, playing tennis, and visiting her extended family.
